Jack-O-Lanterns

We carved pumpkins tonight! What a great time was had by all. All the kids were very hesitant to actually touch the guts of the pumpkins. What's with that? Kids are supposed to love to touch slimey icky pumpkin insides.

When we got everything loose in Liesel's pumkin, we dumped all the stuff out and she cried until we put it all back in. Then, when we were done cleaning them she insisted on spending some extra time with the bowls of seeds and mush.

Liesel loved her "Meow" pumpkin. She just wanted to sit with it all night. Emmitt insisted on a hammerhead shark pumpkin. I did my best. Calvin drew each of his pumpkin's features and then I carved as directed.

It was really fun to have some time with the "big kids" tonight!

That's SO funny that she cried when you dumped her pumpkin out! Seth wouldn't touch the guts either. Theron actually made him get three handfuls out so he carefully picked out three individual strands with his fingertips and that was it.

Love your pumpkins. How do you carve a hammerhead shark?
